- La capacidad del estómago es de 1,5 litros, pero cuando comemos puede llegar al doble.
- Producimos diariamente entre litro y litro y medio de saliva. La función de la saliva es envolver al alimento y hacerlo más suave para que cuando pase al estómago, no desgarre sus paredes.
- Cuando la comida alcanza el estómago, este se comprime cada 20 segundos para mezclarla. Los alimentos pasan de 3 a 4 horas en el estómago, y de 6 a 20 en el intestino delgado, el siguiente órgano del tubo digestivo.
